Clear terms for the store.

These terms set the ground rules for browsing, ordering, shipping, compatibility support, returns, and warranty handling through Round Start Gear.

Last updated: 16 July 2026. Effective for orders placed after the updated shipping options are enabled at checkout.

Consumer rights stay first

Nothing here limits non-excludable rights under applicable consumer law, including New Zealand consumer protections where they apply.

Independent reseller wording

Round Start Gear sells curated controller gear and support. We do not claim official, authorised, manufacturer, console, game, or tournament endorsement unless a product page says so explicitly.

Compatibility is setup-specific

Console, firmware, adapter, game, and tournament requirements can change. Ask before ordering if PS5, Xbox, SOCD, or event legality matters to you.

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply when you browse the Round Start Gear website, contact us, or buy products from our New Zealand online storefront at roundstartgear.co.nz. Orders are available throughout New Zealand, with Auckland collection by appointment. Australian delivery may be considered only by prior quote and agreement.

The legal seller is Round Start Gear Limited, trading publicly as Round Start Gear. For business, order, support, or policy questions, contact us at roundstartgear@gmail.com.

2. Your consumer-law rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. This includes rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, and other mandatory consumer-protection laws that apply to your purchase.

Our change-of-mind return window, support process, and product guidance are offered in addition to those rights. They do not replace your legal remedies for faulty, damaged, incorrectly described, or otherwise non-compliant goods.

3. Orders, acceptance, and stock

Placing an order is an offer to buy. An automated order confirmation only acknowledges receipt. We accept the order when we expressly confirm acceptance or dispatch it. Products remain subject to availability, payment authorisation, fraud checks, shipping eligibility, and correction of obvious pricing or listing errors.

If we cannot accept or fulfil an order, we will contact you and provide an appropriate resolution, such as cancellation and refund. We do not accept preorders, deposits, or backorders unless the product page and checkout clearly say so.

4. Pricing, currency, taxes, and duties

Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Standard New Zealand delivery is free on eligible merchandise subtotals of $269 or more after discounts, subject to the exclusions in our Shipping, Returns & Support policy. Other delivery charges are shown before order submission.

Round Start Gear Limited is not New Zealand GST-registered at the effective date and does not charge or represent a New Zealand GST component while unregistered. Any approved Australian delivery, including applicable shipping, taxes, duties, or import charges, is handled as stated in the accepted quote and Shipping, Returns & Support policy.

5. Payment and checkout

Checkout and payment processing may be handled by Shopify and supported payment providers. We do not intend to store full payment-card details on this website. Payment providers may run fraud, identity, and transaction checks according to their own terms and privacy notices.

You are responsible for ensuring your contact, shipping, and billing details are accurate. If a courier cannot deliver because of incorrect details, we may need to recover reasonable redelivery or return costs where the law allows.

6. Product descriptions and compatibility

We aim to describe products accurately, including model names, inclusions, dimensions, compatibility notes, firmware requirements, stock status, and known limitations. Minor differences in images, packaging, firmware versions, accessories, or supplier batches may occur.

Leverless-controller compatibility depends on firmware, platform mode, passthrough adapters, console updates, game support, and tournament rules. PS5 support, Xbox support, SOCD settings, firmware flashing, and event legality should be confirmed for your exact setup before ordering.

7. Reseller, brand, and endorsement status

Product names, platform names, game names, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify compatibility or product type. Round Start Gear is an independent reseller/support storefront unless a product page says otherwise.

Do not interpret references to Haute42, COSMOX, GP2040-CE, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, tournament circuits, games, or community events as official authorisation, sponsorship, licensing, manufacturer status, or endorsement.

8. Shipping, returns, refunds, and warranty

Shipping estimates, change-of-mind returns, faulty-item handling, dead-on-arrival support, and refund timing are set out on our Shipping, Returns & Support page. Those policies are subject to your non-excludable consumer-law rights.

If a product arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect, or materially different from its description, contact us promptly with your order number, photos where useful, and a clear description of the issue so we can assess the right repair, replacement, refund, or other remedy.

9. Firmware, setup, and user modifications

We may provide setup guidance for firmware, input modes, RGB settings, passthrough adapters, and SOCD configuration. Community firmware, console authentication requirements, and tournament rules can change independently of Round Start Gear.

To the extent the law allows, support may not cover damage caused by misuse, liquid exposure, impact damage, unauthorised repair, unsupported modification, or incorrect firmware flashing. This does not remove any legal remedy you have for an unrelated product fault.

10. Website use, reviews, and promotions

Do not misuse the website, attempt to bypass checkout/security controls, scrape the site at unreasonable volume, submit false information, or upload/send material that is unlawful, abusive, infringing, or misleading.

Discounts, bundles, referral offers, reviews, community invites, or loyalty features may have extra terms if enabled. We may moderate or remove reviews and community content that is spam, abusive, irrelevant, unlawful, or not based on a genuine experience.

11. Liability

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability under mandatory consumer guarantees. Subject to those rights, we are not responsible for indirect, consequential, or business losses arising from site use, delayed delivery, compatibility choices, tournament decisions, or unavailable third-party services.

Where the law allows us to limit a remedy, our liability for a product or order is limited to the price paid for the affected item or to the remedies we are required to provide by law.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who may process it, how long we keep it, and how to request access or correction. Please review it before submitting personal information or placing an order.

13. Governing law and updates

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, without excluding any mandatory consumer rights that apply in the customer's location. Orders are available throughout New Zealand; Australian delivery requires a prior quote and agreement.

We may update these terms as the storefront, suppliers, checkout, shipping, or legal requirements change. The version shown on this page applies from the effective date above unless a later version is published.
