The fighting-game store I wanted to find in New Zealand.
I’m Doxa, formerly known in the fighting-game scene as BigChoppa. I started Round Start Gear after years of buying parts, upgrading arcade sticks, and struggling to find specialist fighting-game hardware readily available in New Zealand.

Why I started the store
I wanted the kind of store I kept looking for.
When I needed a new leverless controller, I ran into the same problem I had seen for years: there were very few places in New Zealand to buy specialist controllers, replacement parts, and compatibility accessories without ordering from overseas.
I had already spent years working on my own arcade sticks and learning how small differences in hardware, firmware, and console support can affect a setup. Buying the right gear should not require weeks of forum research followed by an uncertain international order.
Round Start Gear is my attempt to make that experience better: keep a focused range regularly available in New Zealand, explain what each product does, and give players across New Zealand and Oceania someone local to ask when they need help.
